TCF sponsored the restoration of antique carpets of the Museum for Turkish and Islamic Art
Istanbul hosted theXI. Conference on Oriental Carpets.The Turkish Cultural Foundation was the principal sponsor of the event. Specifically, the Foundation sponsored the restoration and exhibition of 118 antique carpets at the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum. The carpets and exhibition received great admiration from carpet expertsvisiting the exhibition from all over the world.
The TCF and Word Affairs Councils of America announce educational program for 2008
The Turkish Cultural Foundation became an affiliate organization of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA). As part of this program, TCF and 12 World Affairs Councils around the US have joined to organize two study tours to Turkey for a total of 49 educators in the Summer of 2007. In 2008, 21 World Affairs Councils participated in three study tours with a total of 84 teachers. Please see their comments above and photos at ourTeacher Study Tours page. Turkish Cultural Foundation announced Turkish Cultural Foundation Fellows
The Turkish Cultural Foundation Fellowship Program in Turkish Culture and Art was instituted in 2008 with a view to support research on subjects related to the art and culture of Turkey, and studies related to the preservation of Turkey's artistic and cultural heritage. The mission of the TCF Fellowship Program is also to recognize and to assist students and researchers whose scholastic achievements reflect the commitment of the Turkish Cultural Foundation to disseminating knowledge of Turkey's cultural heritage.
In its first year, the Foundation's Fellowship program received an inspiring number of applications from scholars in Turkey and abroad. The TCF gave a scholarship grant to the Georgetown University in Washington, DC for studies at McGhee Center in Alanya
For the second year in a row, the TCF awarded a scholarship grant to Georgetown University to give financial assistance to students who study a semester at the University’s McGhee Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies in Alanya, Turkey.
TCF Sponsored Artists' Exhibit at the Exposition of Sculpture Objects and Functional Art - SOFA Chicago 2007
The Turkish Cultural Foundation participated in the 2007 Chicago SOFA exposition, the premier show on sculpture objects and functional art.
