Spotlight on Turkey Educational Program WACA

Spotlight on Turkey Program - At a Glance

Since 2007, the Turkish Cultural Foundation has partnered with the World Affairs Councils of America in a 3-part project designed to educate middle and high school teachers on Turkey. The goal of the project is to familiarize teachers with Turkey and to encourage them to bring learning about Turkey into their classrooms. The project consists of three parts: Teacher’s Workshops held by each participating council, summer study tours for selected teachers representing each participating council, and in the fall, a series of programs emphasizing various aspects of Turkish culture open to the general community.

From 2007-2015, 3,538 teachers have participated in the Teacher’s Workshops on Turkey and a total of 575 teachers have visited Turkey on the TCF organized and sponsored Teacher’s Study Tours to Turkey.
